Classes

WHAT'S INCLUDED AND WHAT TO EXPECT AT CLAY WITH LOVE:
Our classes provide comprehensive instruction, including step-by-step guidance, clay, tools, a selection of glaze colors, and post-production services for your pots (including bisque and glaze firing).
Before your class, your instructor will prepare the wheel area with aprons, clay, and tools, ensuring a smooth start to your session. You'll receive detailed instruction on creating and designing a pot on the wheel, focusing on beginner-friendly projects like bowls or smaller pots.
Afterward, you'll have the opportunity to choose from a variety of glaze colors, with your instructor guiding you through a quick cleanup. Once you've departed, our staff will conduct a thorough wipe-down and disinfection of the area.
Your completed pots will remain at the studio, where our team will handle all post-production tasks, including glazing and firing. Once all pots in your group are finished, we'll contact you to arrange for pickup.

Note on Open Wheel, Adult Beginner, and Intermediate Classes at Our Studio:
Please be advised that these classes are non-private and are not designed to provide intensive, one-on-one attention. Additionally, they are not suitable for groups of 6 or more individuals seeking to progress at their own pace, as other participants will also be present. If you prefer a more personalized experience or have a larger group, we recommend booking a private session.

Please note: Due to the firing process, we kindly ask for your patience as it may take approximately 7-8 weeks for your pottery to complete the entire production cycle.

Attendance, Refunds, Reschedules at Clay with Love:
Please note that all bookings are final, and we do not offer refunds or reschedules for missed reservations. Once a booking is confirmed and the teacher is scheduled, we are unable to make changes. It is crucial that all members of your group arrive on time. Prompt arrival ensures that private sessions can commence and conclude without disruptions. If you arrive late, the class will still end at the scheduled time.
What to Wear:
We recommend dressing comfortably for your pottery experience, with long hair tied back and any delicate jewelry or watches removed (although they won't be damaged, cleaning clay off can be cumbersome). While clay washes out easily and we provide clean aprons, we advise wearing clothes that you don't mind getting clay on.
Friendly Tip:
While long nails are not ideal for pottery due to the hands-on nature of the process, it is possible to work around them. However, we recommend keeping this in mind for optimal comfort and ease during your session.

Cell Phone Etiquette:
To maintain a respectful environment for your instructor and fellow participants, please ensure that your phones are set to vibrate, silent, or with lowered volume during class. If you need to take a phone call, kindly step outside to do so. We encourage everyone to fully immerse themselves in the class by putting their phones away entirely, allowing for maximum engagement and learning.
Rest assured, we'll ensure that you have the opportunity to capture pictures and videos of your experience.

Student Agreement:
ATTENTION CLAY WITH LOVE STUDENTS:
Please allow 7-8 weeks for your pottery pieces to complete the firing process. Our staff will notify you when all pottery in your group is ready for pickup. Upon notification, you have 30 days to collect your pottery. After this period, unclaimed pieces may be removed to make room for new student work.
Occasionally, pieces may not survive the firing process due to factors like air bubbles or construction issues. Additionally, firing outcomes may vary, and glazes may appear different than expected. Please note that staff cannot control the results of firings once pottery is in the kiln. Such variations are inherent to the ceramic process, and completed pieces are not guaranteed.
Refunds will not be issued for pieces that do not survive the firing process.
When you join Clay with Love, you're embarking on a comprehensive ceramics experience guided by knowledgeable and friendly instructors. Our instructors have honed their skills over years of dedicated practice, and while mastery cannot be achieved in a single session, we aim to provide you with a rich and rewarding creative journey. We encourage you to embrace the entire experience of working with clay, letting go of perfectionism, and immersing yourself in the creative process.
